Design Engineer - Join an Innovative Engineering Team!

Are you a proactive and passionate Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products? Look no further than our dynamic Design Team within the Engineering Department and play a key role in bringing new ideas from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:

As a Design Engineer, you will:
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes to enhance product designs.
  • Create and maintain detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of new products.
  • Produce technical specifications, detailed drawings, and 3D models.
  • Input parts into the MRP system, ensuring engineering control of part revisions.
  • Provide engineering support across various business areas.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the existing product range.
  • Assist in the production of the Technical File for CE/UKCA marking and other compliance requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and support New Product Development (NPD) timelines.
  • Oversee and conduct prototype machine testing.
  • Perform relevant calculations, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of parts.
Skills and Attributes:

We are looking for candidates with:
  • Background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in product development and design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • Proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning, tolerances, and materials.
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and engineering environments.
  • Desirable experience in the design and integration of hydraulic systems.
  • Desirable experience in the integration of electric systems.
  • IT literacy, including Excel, Word, 3D CAD, and ERP systems.
  • Self-confidence, decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, working well under pressure.
  • Keen attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork spirit with hands-on experience.
Qualifications:
  • HNC/HND qualification in an appropriate discipline.
  • Valid Full UK driving license.
